Ingredients
- 500 g No Added Hormone Beef 4 Star Lean Mince
- 250 g cannelloni pasta tubes
- 250 g ricotta cheese
- 1 each brown onion
- 5 cloves garlic
- 50 g parmesan cheese
- 150 g mozzarella cheese
- 700 ml passata
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 7 g fresh basil
- 0.5 loaf white sandwich loaf
- 75 g butter
- 10 g parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180Β°C (356Β°F).
- In a frying pan over medium heat, cook the beef mince with chopped brown onion and 3 minced garlic cloves until browned. Season with salt and pepper, remove from heat, and allow to cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mince mixture, ricotta cheese, half of the grated parmesan cheese, and half of the chopped parsley. Mix well to form the filling.
- Fill the uncooked cannelloni pasta tubes with the filling mixture using a piping bag or spoon.
- Pour half of the passata into a baking dish to create a thin layer of sauce.
- Arrange the filled cannelloni tubes over the passata layer. Pour the remaining passata over the cannelloni and sprinkle with dried oregano.
- Top with grated mozzarella cheese and the remaining parmesan cheese.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- While the cannelloni is baking, make the garlic bread by mixing softened butter with 2 minced garlic cloves and the remaining parsley.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture onto slices of the white sandwich loaf and place them on a baking tray.
- Bake the garlic bread in the oven for the last 10 minutes of the cannelloni cooking time or until crisp and golden.
- Serve the baked cannelloni hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves, alongside the garlic bread.
