Ingredients

  • 500 g Pork & Beef 3 Star Regular Mince Bolognese
  • 500 g spaghetti
  • 800 g tinned tomatoes
  • 1 each onion
  • 1 each carrot
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 tsp mixed dried herbs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 50 g parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 head lettuce
  • 2 each tomato
  • 0.5 each cucumber
  • 2 tbsp Italian salad dressing
  • 1 each french stick
  • 50 g butter
  • 0.5 bunch parsley

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add finely chopped onion, carrot, celery, and 2 cloves of minced garlic. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the Pork & Beef Mince Bolognese to the pan, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the tinned tomatoes and mixed dried herbs. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
  5. For the garlic bread, preheat the oven to 200°C. Mix the remaining 2 cloves of minced garlic with the butter and spread over the halved breadstick. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and roast in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  6. Assemble the garden salad by combining the lettuce, sliced tomato, and cucumber in a large bowl. Drizzle with Italian salad dressing and toss to coat.
  7. To serve, plate the spaghetti with bolognese sauce, sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese, and add a slice of garlic bread and a portion of salad on the side.
