Ingredients

  • 500 g RSPCA Approved Chicken Breast Diced
  • 12 each bao buns
  • 4 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 300 g coleslaw
  • 1 each carrot
  • 0.5 bunch coriander
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp sriracha
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the diced chicken with 2 cloves minced garlic, 1 tsp grated ginger, hoisin sauce, and a drizzle of vegetable oil. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for 8-10 minutes until it’s cooked through and caramelized. Remove from heat.
  3. Prepare the crunchy Asian slaw by mixing coleslaw mix, grated carrot, chopped coriander, rice vinegar, mayonnaise, and sriracha in a bowl. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  4. Steam the bao buns according to the package instructions (usually about 4-5 minutes).
  5. To assemble, fill each bao bun with the cooked chicken, top with the crunchy slaw, and drizzle with additional hoisin sauce or sriracha if desired.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy your flavour-packed street-food inspired chicken bao buns!
