Ingredients
- 500 g RSPCA Approved Chicken Breast Diced
- 12 each bao buns
- 4 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 300 g coleslaw
- 1 each carrot
- 0.5 bunch coriander
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tsp sriracha
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp ginger
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the diced chicken with 2 cloves minced garlic, 1 tsp grated ginger, hoisin sauce, and a drizzle of vegetable oil. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for 8-10 minutes until it’s cooked through and caramelized. Remove from heat.
- Prepare the crunchy Asian slaw by mixing coleslaw mix, grated carrot, chopped coriander, rice vinegar, mayonnaise, and sriracha in a bowl. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Steam the bao buns according to the package instructions (usually about 4-5 minutes).
- To assemble, fill each bao bun with the cooked chicken, top with the crunchy slaw, and drizzle with additional hoisin sauce or sriracha if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your flavour-packed street-food inspired chicken bao buns!
