Beef alla Pizzaiola with Garlic Mash

Ingredients

  • 500 g No Added Hormone Beef Rump Steak
  • 800 g potatoes
  • 400 g tinned tomatoes
  • 6 clove garlic
  • 80 g black olives
  • 1 tbsp capers
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 each brown onion
  • 10 g parsley
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 50 ml milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel and cube the potatoes and place them in a large pot of salted water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15 minutes.
  2. While the potatoes cook, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sautΓ© for about 4-5 minutes until softened.
  3. Add 3 minced garlic cloves to the pan and cook for another minute. Stir in the tinned tomatoes, dried oregano, black olives, and capers. Simmer the sauce over low heat for 15 minutes.
  4. Season the beef rump steak with salt and pepper. In a separate pan, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the beef until browned, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer the beef to the tomato sauce to simmer for another 10 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, drain the cooked potatoes and mash them with butter, milk, 3 minced garlic cloves, and salt to taste until smooth and creamy.
  6. Serve the beef alla pizzaiola garnished with fresh parsley alongside the garlic mash. Drizzle with a touch of olive oil if desired.
