Ingredients
- 1.1 kg RSPCA Approved Chicken Thigh Cutlets
- 4 tbsp honey
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 each spring onions
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cups rice
- 4 cups water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken thigh cutlets to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for extra flavour.
- Preheat your oven to 190°C or heat a grill pan over medium heat.
- If grilling, drizzle the remaining vegetable oil on the grill pan before cooking. Place the marinated chicken thighs on the grill and cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side until cooked through. Alternatively, bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, basting occasionally with the remaining marinade.
- While the chicken is cooking, prepare the rice. Rinse the rice under cold water and cook it with 4 cups of water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and let it simmer until the water is absorbed. Set aside.
- Once the chicken is cooked, transfer it to a serving plate. Garnish with sliced spring onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve the sticky honey soy chicken thighs with steamed rice. Enjoy!
